Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy sets forth the rules and guidelines for using Pichr’s image hosting service. Violation of this policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, store, or share:

2.1 Illegal Content

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Zero tolerance. Immediate removal and reporting to authorities
  • Terrorism content: Material promoting or glorifying terrorism
  • Violent extremism: Content inciting violence or hatred
  • Illegal drugs: Content promoting illegal drug sales or use
  • Illegal weapons: Content promoting illegal firearms or weapons sales

2.2 Harmful Content

  • Gore and extreme violence: Graphic depictions of death or serious injury
  • Self-harm: Content promoting suicide or self-injury
  • Animal cruelty: Content depicting animal abuse
  • Harassment: Content targeting individuals for abuse

2.3 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Copyrighted images without authorization
  • Trademark infringement
  • Impersonation of individuals or brands

2.4 Spam and Abuse

  • Mass uploading for spam purposes
  • Malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Phishing attempts or scams
  • Rate limit evasion or service abuse

3. Adult Content (NSFW) Policy

Adult content is permitted with the following conditions:

  • Must not involve minors
  • Must comply with UK Obscene Publications Act
  • Automatically age-restricted based on AI detection
  • Subject to moderation review if flagged
  • May be removed if it violates community standards

Pichr uses automated NSFW detection. Content with scores above 0.7 is automatically age-restricted. Content above 0.9 may be automatically removed.

You must own the rights to images you upload or have permission from the copyright holder. We respond to valid DMCA takedown requests. Repeat copyright infringers will have their accounts terminated.

5. Privacy and Sharing

By default, uploaded images are accessible via their direct URL. You are responsible for:

  • Controlling who you share image URLs with
  • Setting appropriate privacy settings on albums
  • Not uploading private or sensitive information you don’t want public

6. Quota and Resource Usage

You agree to:

  • Stay within your plan’s storage and bandwidth limits
  • Not attempt to circumvent quota restrictions
  • Upgrade to a paid plan if you need higher limits
  • Not use the service for hot-linking high-traffic sites without appropriate quota

7. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that violates this policy, you can:

  • Use the Report button on any image
  • Email compliance@pichr.io with details and the image URL
  • For urgent illegal content (CSAM, terrorism), email immediately with subject “URGENT”

All reports are reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 24 hours. High-priority reports (CSAM, terrorism) are escalated immediately.

8. Enforcement

8.1 Automated Actions

Our systems may automatically:

  • Age-restrict content with high NSFW scores
  • Remove content with extremely high NSFW scores
  • Rate-limit excessive API usage
  • Block uploads exceeding quota limits

8.2 Manual Actions

Moderators may:

  • Remove policy-violating content
  • Issue warnings to users
  • Suspend accounts temporarily
  • Permanently ban accounts for serious violations

8.3 Appeals

If your content was removed or account suspended, you may appeal by emailing appeals@pichr.io with your account details and explanation. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.

9. UK Online Safety Act Compliance

As a UK-based platform, we comply with the Online Safety Act 2023 by:

  • Implementing proactive moderation systems
  • Providing user reporting mechanisms
  • Maintaining transparency reports
  • Protecting children from harmful content
  • Cooperating with Ofcom regulatory requirements

10. Updates to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated via email.
